Volunteering at school

Helping out at school is a great way to get involved in your child’s education as well as get to know the staff and other parents and carers.

Research shows that children benefit when their parents or carers are actively involved in their education and school life.

You can help by:

  • listening to children read in the classroom
  • volunteering on sports days
  • helping supervise excursions
  • getting involved in fundraising activities
  • joining school committees.

How to volunteer at Broulee Public School

Contact your child's classroom teacher or visit the front office to register your interest in volunteering at our school. The steps listed below must be carried out by the front office prior to visiting our school as a volunteer.

If you are the Parents or Close Relatives of a Student:

  • You DO NOT require a Working With Children Check (WWCC)
  • The front office must sight one form of photo ID with your full name, date of birth, current address, and photo
  • You must complete a Declaration for child-related workers
  • You must then show a photo ID when signing in at front office.

If you are a Non-relative of a Student

Anyone over the age of 18 volunteering at a school, who is not a parent or close relative of a child attending the school at which they are volunteering, is considered a non-relative volunteer.

  • These volunteers DO REQUIRE a WWCC (volunteer classification - no charge) prior to volunteering at our school
  • The front office must sight one form of photo ID with your full name, date of birth, current address, and photo
  • You must complete a Declaration for child-related workers
  • You must show a photo ID when signing in
